I missed the ice skating trip…

Yes. I decided NOT to go to the Village ice skating trip today even tho all my med frens are going. BECAUSE I already went last week and I-have-to-save-money-but-my-hse-mate-and-frens-are-suggesting-of-going-next-weekend-why-like-that-one!?!?!?!

Oh and I also didn’t go because I-am-good-girl-stay-at-home-do-my-resource/assignment-type.

Yeah right. -__-”

and the odd think is… guys here (at the Village) can cook / are more willing to cook than girls. hahaha….. Seriously, every dinner gathering that I have been to, it was the guys cooking. And it wasn’t simple dishes too. This guy from Thailand actually made dumplings from scratch last friday. I salute them. =)

Listen to ‘Better Than Me’ by Hinder. Not bad. =)

Whee!!!!

I’m estatic right now because it is a Friday. =) I finished my biology test yesterday. I had pot luck dinner with some friends who are staying at The Village just now.

But most of all….. I am estatic because I passed my clinical skills Blood Pressure test. =) =) My tutor told me that ‘it was a clear pass’. Not borderline. *woot!* I was so nervous before it was my turn because he was like the scariest tutor amongst them all…. like super strict type.

Plus, I got back my clinical skills guideline portfolio and I got an A for that. =) =) =)

Pictures from Andrew’s party at his place on the eve of ANZAC day.

Dinner…

lol, nick at the piano…. =)

The Xbox maniacs… actually, just joking. =)

Neil!!!

erm… nevermind them.

crazy cross eyed people >.<

So yeah, Andrew decided to have a party at his place two days before our biology test because 1. He doesn’t have to sit for the test. 2. His parents are away to Gold Coast for 3 days. It was great to get together with everyone and I got to play air hockey for the first time. =) and Xbox as well, but I am pretty bad at that. Andrew’s brother tried to give me tips but I just ended up stabbing every button on the console in a totally random manner. Lol, he gave up on me after that (But I still manage to come in second after him, beating 2 other people). We got to mess around with Andrew’s drum set as well. He has two of them, don’t know why a person needs two but anyway…..

The few of us who didn’t want to spend the night at his place got back right before 12 am (that was our target). Had to drag myself up and out to cram for biology the next day.

Weather here is WET now. Rained the WHOLE 24 hours yesterday. I couldn’t believe it at first. I remember that back at INTEC, it rained everytime we had a bio paper as well. Seems like the tradition was kept here. Anyway, I think it’s going to be the start of a wet weekend. Poured pretty hard this morning as well and the rained continued sporadically throughout the day. I’m welcoming the drop in temperature but not the rain. Although rain is good cos then they were planning on rationing our water if it doesn’t rain soon.

Tons of things to do this weekend.

bumbling along…

What is it with Australian air composition that makes all the pens that I use turn brittle and crack??? I tought at first that it was just the formalin chemicals in the anatomy lab but this has been happening to my other pens that I have never brought in too.

Med Ball - Arabian Nights $80 tickets (!!!!!!!!!) at Hilton, which apparently we have been baned for the last 6 years. =) Apparently the last time it was held there, the med students trashed the place so badly leading the management to ban us from holding anymore events there…. and this year they have lifted the ban so….. I do wonder what will happen.
BUt I most probably won’t be going, cos the price of the ticket is super expensive. *sob*

Mum just called yesterday night (read: early this morning) and told me that the biggest ice skating rink in Malaysia is about to open in KK sometime this year!!!!! Whee!!!

But how come things like these only happen when I’m not around in KK???

Ice is less dense than liquid water…

How can one resist when the ice skating rink is a mere 15 minutes walk away? SO we made plans to go there today. Me, another KK-lite, 1 west malaysian,2 singaporeans, 1 thai, and 1 japanese. =) Skating here costs $14.50 per person (don’t convert!!!) and there are two skating rinks, one for beginners and a larger one which they sometimes use for hockey games as well. So its bout the same size as the one at Sunway Pyramid. But, this place here is COLD… So much so that your breath condenses once its out of your mouth. =0 The temperature here is kept low and coupled with the fact that the building only houses these rinks, its much colder than at sunway. The ice here is hard and dry, doesn’t melt like at Sunway so its much rougher and bumpier. Plus there is enought ice shavings to make a few hundred bowls of ais kacang if anyone bothers to take the trouble. =)

About 80% of the people there were kids. As in below 12 years old. =) Imagine the few of us sticking out like sore thumbs in the rink. Haha…. I made friends with this cute little girl called Emily. She’s only nine but skates like a pro. =)

Anyway, miss the shoes that they use in sunway. These here are harder but have buckles instead of laces so minus the hassle of having to retie your laces everytime.

On the other hand, I just found out that there are free tennis courts along west terrace bout 5 minutes walk from my place. =) So I’ve started going there with some friends to play as well. I don’t play well. In fact, I’m terrible at it but hey, I’ll give it a try.

Back to the books. =P

*ps - Med ball coming up next with the theme Arabian Nights. (?!?!) This better not be true.

ever wondered why you are where you are now??? Ever wondered how would things turn out if you’ve decided or done differently? Ever wondered what would you do if you have the opportunity to turn back time? Ever wondered how would your future unfold???

Ever felt so uncertain about yourself you just feel like folding your whole life up, passing it through the shreder and throwing it to the sea?

Whenever bouts of uncertainties assail a person, what should one do?

Do everyone experience episodes such as these? Even self satisfied, over confident, annoying I-know-I’m-right people?

What happens then?

Jazz night

Jazz night, right before hols and right before everyone goes back to wherever they came from. =) It was cold but bearable at first until it got really cold later at night. It was a great night altogether, although it was kinda hard to dance to jazz music. None of us knew how to. =P I think the musicians were kinda amused by our attempts to do so. But that’s besides the point. We were there to have fun anyway. A couple of frens who weren’t from med turned up as well. The live band stopped at 9pm but we lingered on till bout 11pm. It was held by the River Torrens which had a nice sunset view, which I missed. =P
