I need a place to stay.
Please???
UniAdelaide had thier open day on Sunday and guess what? We went. Hahaha…. I might have been a student there for the past 6 - 7 months but to tell the truth, I still do not know where some the buildings / faculties are situated. And it was the only time we could walk into any room that we want to on the pretext of ‘checking out the facilities’. Haha… The Elder Hall for concerts was beautiful. Medium sized, old, and personal. Not at all like some huge comercial theater that intimidates. Anyway, the main reason we went there was for the free stuff. Lol. Got a toothpaste and brush from the dentistry stall, nursing gave out yoghurts and burn gels, had a squishy brain ball from the pathology table, pens, badges, bags, oranges, magnets, slime, post - its, notepads etc etc….. Haha… lame.
Oh and I got to dress up in scrubs for a photoshoot for the City to Bay run today. It was so much fun!!!! Hahaha….. Imagine 10 - 20 med students in blue hospital scrubs and caps running along pushing a hospital bed. =) I’ll try and see if I can get hold of a picture.
Malaysian Carnival yesterday. Wanted to bring my camera, then decided against it. -_-” I refuse to look like some ‘katak bawah tempurung’ snapping pictures of foods that I have practically grown up with.
They had pretty good nasi Briyani. The roti jala sold out before I could get some for myself (was almost devastated, then decided to cheer myself up with Gloria Jeans’ Arnott’s Tim Tam drink!!! Must try!) The satay was super expensive. We sat down under the sun playing congkak for a good 1 1/2 hours. And of course the organisers were very fascinated to see ‘ang moh’s playing congkak so they snapped like a few hundred pictures of them. haha…. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing these pictures plastered somewhere for promotional / showing off purpose.
Maybe I can bring my congkak set over next year and host a congkak party for them. =P lol

That was on Friday night. Yesterday (Saturday), went to the theater to watch Amazing Grace (true story bout this guy who practically devoted his life to abolishing the slave trade in England). We went to Palace Nova since the usual cinemas don’t really screen these stuff. Pretty cool place, not at all like the usual cineplex. There were actually more people here than any cinemas I’ve seen in Adelaide before, even Harry Potter didn’t have that many audiences. I guess Adelaide people prefer the more serious, intellectual type of material then. =P

Happy 50th Independence to Malaysia.
My Communicology course coordinator loves giving examples of Malaysian doctors having trouble communicating with patients in Australia. -_-” She happily gave an example of ‘if you’re were a student studying medicine in Kuala Lumpur, and communicating in Baharsa Malay….’ It was posted on the website for everyone to read.
I happily pointed out to her that she spelt it completely wrong. =P Oops.
There was also this other example in the animation of local doctor having difficulty communicating with a sick boy from Malaysia. -_-”
Our English is that hard to understand isit??? I add a few ‘lah’s into my sentence u cannot understand d?? So cacat.
Come on ppl, show them that their perception of us is wrong!!! Yeah!
If I see another example about Malaysia, I’m gonna quit this course.
Someone raised their hand during lecture some time back when the lecturer asked us what does ‘malaise’ mean. That person answered that it means ‘people from Malaysia’ (Malays).
Very funny Andrew. I should have poked you at that time. (and stop poking me!!! especially NOT when I am sleeping during lectures!!!!!)
