desserts and all…

Yeah, so I’m just going to put all of them together. =) Pictures from the Chocolate Bean and Spats Cafe. Chocolate Bean, as the name suggests, serves all things chocolate. Chocolate heaven =) =) Have been wanting to go there since I first arrived here in Adelaide. It’s one of those small places tucked away from the main road. The other place is Cocolat which is more comercial.

And just yesterday, we went to Spats Cafe, in Hyde Park, South of Adelaide. It’s an Edwardian Dessert place with quaint, homey decor.

Pictures from the Chocolate Bean

Every imaginable type of chocolate served in tiny shot glasses to be poured over your slice of chocolate cake. *swoons*

Banana Waffle with Chocolate Sauce

Cheese cake with Lemon Topping. I love how they did those swirly designs on all the plates.

Sticky Date Pudding

I must pay a visit to Cocolat soon and I heard that there is another dessert place, this time in North Adelaide called the Elephant Walk.

Spring Break is here

Two weeks of ‘holidays’ before we are greeted with OSCE exams (aka. our worst nightmare).

Meanwhile, pictures from the Royal Adelaide Show that I promised. =)

I haven’t been on one for years!!! I want to go Gold Coast now!!!

I started off with this one…

Then we went on this…

And I nearly died in this. =P I hate heights!!! Too bad I promised Ekasith long before that I will do it (and also no one else was dumb enough to pay $15 to put their lives in danger). It’s the tallest ride here apart from the Big Drop. Cept that in this one, we get swung around.

lol, me and my housemate cherie. =)

Look at this!! I’ve never expected to see such a ‘backpack’ here.

Fair toys!!! Now I’ve got some friends for my tatty bear. =)

We had fun. It was a mix of exhibition and fun fair and competition and sale and side shows all in one place. I regretted not getting a showbag for myself though. These Adelaideans are just crazy about showbags. Basically they’re just bagful of goodies to buy and you get samples and vouchers and a whole lot of random stuff. Interesting, it’s like getting lots of small christmas presents in your stocking. =)

I did not go to the end of term party. Instead, I chose to spent the first Friday night of the term break rearranging my notes. How shocking. -_-”

Two weeks to OSCE exams

*gasp*!!!! I have to start practising.

On another note, I seem to be getting chocolates from pretty random people these few days… Friends would just pass me a bar saying ‘hey, have one, I bought extra’.

Doesn’t that make your day??? =) I should probably do that as well.

Maybe we should start a ‘Give a chocolate’ Day or something. Good way to clear out the Easter Stock.

Went to the Royal Adelaide Show last Saturday. =) Went on some pretty crazy rides. Probably upload the pictures over the weekend. =)

Malaysia: 50 Years Young

Like the patriotic Malaysian that I am (read: JPA pays for my future so I better act good and turn up for these kind of stuff), I bought myself tickets to the 50th Merdeka Dinner held at the Dom Polski Centre here in Adelaide. It was a huge event organised by all the Malaysian students societies in Adelaide (which number at about 5 - 6!!!). Overall, had a pretty good time. Food was commendable, performances was so - so, met up with other Malaysians, did not win any of the lucky draw….. Haha.

Things that a typical Malaysian function cannot do without:

The people… (yes, I’m wearing the same dress from prom last year. Couldn’t be bothered / no time to get a new one)

Typical Malaysian behaviour with buffet tables…. hahaha…

On Friday, I got an opportunity to attend the South Australia’s Premier Reception held for Malaysians. Invites were sent out to all the students representing the different student associations in Adelaide and also prominent Malaysians who contributed to SA’s development. It was a chance for us to rub shoulders with all these people. There were some ministers around as well to hear out views / complaints / suggestions etc. It was only for one hour though so it ended pretty fast.

Okie, what you can’t see behind us is the room were parliment convenes. I know it’s a bad picture but we didn’t have time and techincally, we weren’t shown in there as well…… :-*
