2009
It was pitch black and we were speeding along the highway when suddenly the view in front of us was lit up with fireworks. All along the horizon, we could see colourful explosions as the different suburbs in Melbourne welcomed the new year of 2009. We stop along the roadside and climbed up the bank of the road to watch the display. I felt exhilarated watching the scene before me. I have never seen anything like it before, at least 8 different fireworks display at one time minus the suffocating crowds. There was no one there except the few of us. There we were, out in the open road, driving towards a new city, and a new year.
